Children and Youth
The church encourages spiritual awareness among the young with two groups: JAM (Jesus And Me) and Spectrum. These meet during the principal Sunday morning services (except when this takes the form of informal worship) during term times.
* JAM
JAM is the name of the St Nicholas Sunday School. We meet in the Community Hall on Sundays during the morning Service. Sessions start at 10.30 and we usually open with a short time of worship followed by a story, and finish off with a period of craft work. We take children from age 3 to 15 years. Worshiping together at the start of our session, and then splitting into smaller groups dependant on age and ability to continue their faith development.There is a theme for each week and a programme is published at the start of each term.
Our mission statement is ‘to show young people that church and Christians can be fun, whilst equipping them to serve God at home, in our church, at school and in society at large’.
JAM is lead by Tricia Squires who are supported by a number of helpers. All leaders and helpers are enhanced CRB checked and a Safeguarding policy is in place (for further details of the Safeguarding policy contact Nicki Richards, Parish Safeguarding Officer.)
For further information please contact Tricia Squires (triciasquires@blueyonder.co.uk) or any member of the Clergy.
* Spectrum
Spectrum is lead by Jeff Richards.
Through interactive sessions, discussions, leading worship, and creative activities, the young people will explore what is essentially Christian and explicitly Christian in their lives, connecting their faith to the Church year.
